Hi All,

Firstly apologies for the cross post, this is already known to WAHAMs and WARG lists, but I believe there might be people here who are on neither list.

Summary: Matt VK6ML and WARG have agreed to set up a 23cms repeater, and have asked the VK6 community for some financial assistance towards the initial setup, through a go-fund-me page here https://gofund.me/54f334b8  I believe this to be a worthy cause and have already contributed as have several others.

Details:

Hi Perth Ham Community,

Many of you have asked me for a 23CM repeater that can be left in Digital or analogue mode (Automatic) that is not linked and can be used for not only local QSO but also act as a system for checking signals and tuning up your EME equipment, or just a general chin wag, Icom have generously offered a repeater deal to WARG and many other clubs, last night WARG meeting agreed to follow through with the proposal, however a few Perth hams (that gave me the idea) also said they would be happy to help Pay and setup this system, the rules of the icom deal that a club must be the responsible one to qualify for the deal, so that WARG is not totally out of pocket, we set up this go fund me, to allow others who wish to be involved in the project, however WARG (Western Australian repeater Group ) would maintain and remain the owners of the system, think of this as Crowd Funding a new Perth repeater. The frequency that this would be on is the old RDM frequency, and we would move them to TicHill.

Our goal is $2500

The money would be going to purchase the following,
1) Icom 23cm Repeater
2) Duplexer
3) Antenna
4) Cable and connectors

Warg's Website: Should you wish to see what WARG is all about is here:https://www.warg.org.au/
