MARINE POLLUTION BULLETIN - SPECIAL ISSUE
SEDIMENT POLLUTION IN COASTAL AND MARINE ENVIRONMENTS

This Special Issue is in response to the high number of manuscripts in the literature on the general topic of pollutants in coastal sediments and their characterization. Articles from all relevant disciplines focusing on any type of pollution form in sediments from coastal and marine environments worldwide are invited. Comparative studies (e.g., local, regional, sub-national and cross-national) are encouraged, as studies focused on developing new approaches to assess pollutants into the sediments, and for the determination of their magnitudes, distribution, sources, impacts (economic, biological, health-related), as well as their management. Studies aimed at investigating how site-specific settings and processes influence the spatial and vertical distribution of pollutants in the sediments and their temporal evolution are also welcome.
