Weather balloon launch is a go! 6/25/16

Today at 3:30 we will be launching a weather balloon.

This balloon has a crossband repeater system. 446.100 uplink 147.560 downlink.

It Appears that the last discernible audio on the transmissions in Paris Oh. was at 6:04 EDST It sounded like no one was coming back to him for the last 3 or 4 of those minutes.... 2 1/2 Hour flight.... Pretty Cool... Hope they can recover it.... I heard him say that he quit getting GPS data towards the end... 73 Rick

Balloon Launch Audio

Brandon and group,

Great launch today. Was able to copy most of the audio direct from an HT at Massillon field day.  I have a 14MB file which is the entire balloon downlink audio of the launch from beginning to end.   Appears the longest distance contacts were Toledo Ohio, Roseville Ohio (South of Zanesville), Ontario Canada, and Warren PA.  Brandon where would you like me to send the audio.  I will try to send it in an email, but 14MB may be too large to email.

It appears 8MB is the cut off for Google attachments. 

15miles North of Detroit, Michigan was also in the audio.

Congrats on a successful launch and recovery!

I could hear it down in Lebanon even after Jason took off to recover it. I heard both the warren mi an pa contacts as well as zanesville.

Here are the call signs I have recorded, their locations and what time they are in the audio.

  The farthest contact was KB8GFF in St Clair Shores, MI.   This is at 1:05:06 ("Mobile North of Detroit")  1:07:42 and ("kb8gff EN....Mobile....") on the recording.  108 miles!  Brandon (Net control) was not able to copy the entire callsign during the QSO however, but I was able to pull it out on the recording.
