The Feb 2013 meeting of the Amateur Radio Transmitting Society meeting is this Friday March 8th at ******7:00 p.m.****** (SPECIAL START TIME) in the community room at the McMahan Fire station. It’s on Taylorsville Road east of Hikes Point about halfway to Hurstbourne Lane, near the intersection of Lowe Road. Park around the back of the building. See the club website at
http://www.w4cn.org for a map, directions and more information.
This month we will be joined by Glenn Petri KE4KY, to share with us his experiences last year on the ZL9HR Campbell Island DXexpedition. You can read a little about ZL9HR and Campbell Island on their website here: http://www.campbell2012.com. Campbell Island NZ is a top 20 most wanted DXCC entity, ranked 15th on the most wanted list in 2012. This litte sub-antarctic island holds the distinction of being the most remote location (on a significant piece of land) from London, England and from Dublin, Ireland.
NOTE: We will be starting at 7:00pm this month instead of 7:30pm in order to give Glenn more speaking time about this fascinating experience.
As always anyone is welcome to attend. Please come, and bring a friend, significant other, child, spouse or anyone else!
Hope to see you there!
