Winter Field Day

This announcement is sent at the request of Alan Tooley KF4EFI regarding the Winter Field Day, January 27 & 28 2018.

All members at encouraged to sign up for Winter Field Day 2018. A sign up page is on the club web sight at W4CN.org. We need your participation to make this WFD successful.

Below are the notes from today's roundtable held on the club repeater. There will be an additional roundtable on Thursday 1/17 at 8PM.

Planning Notes

Alan KF4EFI hosted a roundtable net meeting on Sunday to plan the Winter Field Day activities, 1/14 at 1600.

Dave W4DFR, Greg WX8V, John KB3QAT and KC$ZMZ Bill, joined the roundtable.

Two stations are planned with 746 radios provided by Alan and Greg.

Greg is setting up Logger PC's and a PC for data connection with one of the 746 stations.

Greg has DIGIPAN now set up on a workstation. Dave suggested that he investigate FLDIGI as an option as it supports a wider array modes.

After much discussion the following items will be included in the planning efforts for WFD.

Generator, Gas & Extension Cords

Tables and Chairs

Coax and Antennas

Rope and Fiberglass poles, anchor pins and a heavy hammer.

Slingshot and casting line to put ropes into the tree tops.(May need additional weights for slingshot use)

John to contact Eddie  to get door code for Station Two 

Food and Drink - Coffee Pot and Coffee, Pizza or BBQ for Saturday Evening

Load up supplies at Bill Tooley's on Saturday Morning.

John will send email to all members regarding signing up for WFD 

Alan will host an additional roundtable on Thursday during the 8 pm repeater net
