Hi,

We are here to make a difference in the web experience for Sri Lankans.
Its a big goal but its possible.

I'm seeing glimpses of great design and functionality popping up here
and there. Blogs seem to be a good starting point but we need more.

Please introduce yourselves and say what you want to improve. We'll
branch out discussions from there.

Thanks for joining,
Dilantha

Yeps great work dilantha, still we have portal5ive open as well. Lets
take the Sri Lankan web industry to challenge the world. Would like to
see some interesting posts about web 2.0, web standards, accessibility,
usability, browser wars... etc here.

There are tons of sites popping up like portal5ive... we have to come
together and help these sites be better. I know I can use some help
too.

The idea is helping each other and promoting others to build something
better than what we had yesterday. What I see right now is people
putting up quick and dirty solutions like blogs and forums. This is not
entirely bad.

We can capture a lot of information from those as well. But we can plan
out, team up and come up with a few good sites and services it will be
great.

Its getting pretty late out here. You guys carry on I'll catch up with
you tomorrow.

howdy

Technically I'm neither Sri Lankan, nor a web developper, but I figure
out what the hell :)

so.. what would I want to improve in SL/design...?

hmm... accessability, cross platform compatibility, functionality,
layout, etc, etc,
thankfully most of these can be fixed by WP or some other CMS..

Id like to participate in any Sri Lankan project, I'm no expert in
coding or anything but I will help if I can.

I'd like to see more web 2.0 development and innovation from this side
of the world
