Hi,

I am back asking for help.  We need to build some concrete counterweights.  Around 16 of them.
My woodworking skills are ok and I am building the mold (18" diameter hexadecagon, 2" thick).
That is work in progress (see picture below).  What remains is beveling the edges and assembly.

Unfortunately, I have no concrete working skills or tools.  If you do, I would very much appreciate
your help.

Saied, as we discussed yesterday, recommend you use a livestock 3 gal feeder pan and high strength concrete mix. Insert six 4" or 5" galvanized nails equidistant around the perimeter of the tray so that there will be minimal separation of the tray from the concrete after it cures. Apply chicken wire internally and affix to the nails. Cut short PVC tube inserts to the depth of the tray and glue to the center of the tray with polyurethane adhesive glue. Measure the I.D. of the PVC and cut out the hole before the adhesive is applied.

If you want, we can build the tray assemblies at the station on any Tuesday I'm there but as we don't have water at the shack, we'll have to mix the concrete and make the pour at some other location. I have a mixing rod that is attached to an AC drill to mix the concrete. A 5 gal bucket is easy to pour from. I have all that stuff.

Each unit should weigh about 60 lbs.

Here's the list -

BTW, I'm not sure how full it is, but there is a rain barrel at the shack, it looks like 50 or 55 gallons.

Great idea, Rich. It’s pretty full. I just use a gallon or two out of it for the petunias.

And it’s non potable, but certainly clean enough rain water for concrete.
