Sample Field Day 2026 Announcement

Hello fellow members.

I have attached the Field Day 2026 announcement that I am going to submit to the Montpelier Front Porch Forum. My intention is to place the announcement about 1 week before Field Day and repeat the announcement on Thursday June 25, 2026. 

Please look over the announcement and make whatever revisions you desire before submitting it to your local FPF, newspaper, or other publication. I will submit a copy to the Montpelier Police Department to let them know what we are up to since the Park officially closes at 11 PM. If you can think of anyone else we should inform, please let me know. I have alerted a couple of friends who are state legislators and you should also let any public officials you know that are welcome to visit us in the Old Shelter.

THE CENTRAL VERMONT AMATEUR RADIO CLUB will be participating in the American Radio Relay League Field Day on Saturday June 27 and Sunday June 28. This year we will be located in the Old Shelter in Hubbard Park in Montpelier, VT. The event starts at 2 p.m. Saturday and ends at 2 p.m. Sunday. 

Amateur radio operators from all over North America will be participating in Field Day. Participants nation-wide will practice and refine their abilities to communicate when disaster renders conventional communications inoperable. It is also a chance for the public to see Ham radio in action. Amateur (“ham”) radio enthusiasts, those who are curious about ham radio, and members of the public are invited to join us as we raise antennas, set up equipment, and make radio contacts throughout the U.S. and elsewhere. Please come pay us a visit at the Old Shelter.
