Allis State Park this weekend?

Hi all --

At our July meeting, we had some discussion of a possible POTA (Parks on the Air) activation this weekend at Allis State Park in Brookfield (US-3099).  From what I recall, we made no concrete plans, so I wanted to continue the conversation here.

The current weather forecast for the weekend looks clear and sunny with relatively cool temperatures.

What do people think?

I can be there for a few hours on Saturday barring chores and whatnot - who’s bringing radios? I can bring antennas if necessary.

Just to confirm, the attached document shows a Sunday 8/3 reservation. We’re talking about Sunday and not Saturday 8/2, right?

Making a correction on behalf of Chris Knox - the park is booked for Sunday, August 3rd, not Saturday. I am good for that day as well and it sounds like Alan is too.

Greatings All,We have a reserbation for SUNDAY AUG, 3 2025.   The pavillion was booked on Saturday.    
A deposit has been made for that date. Check in time is around 0900.

I have been quite busy this week.  Just catching up with emails.  Who is coming and at what time?  I have a commitment in the morning but can be there around noon.  
Is anyone bringing food?  What should I bring?

Hi all,

John and I just got here and are unpacking. The shelter is almost exactly like Hubbard Park, but with more space! The fire tower is unfortunately closed for renovations (reopening 8/6) which crimps our plans to hang antennas off of it, but we can improvise. 

There are several charcoal grills available for our use if we want.
