I met a number of you at the last meeting and there was discussion pointing us to the discord group for CVARC. I wasn't able to find it in on the website or by searching in Discord. Can someone provide me a link?

Electrician
We are looking for recommendations for an electrician to ground the antenna at the Calais Town Hall and also help with the cabling install and grounding of an antenna at the Maple Corner Community Store. Please let me know if you have suggestions.

Code Plug

I've noticed that there is some discrepancies between repeater book and what is in a code plug that I received for some of the analog UHF/VHF repeaters for both frequencies and PL tones. Is anyone willing to share a code plug for me to cross reference? It is also interesting for me to see how others set up their programming and groups as I've been working on customizing our town's Anytone 578 mobile radios.

Lastly, here in Calais we have been setting up a network of GMRS operators and holding nets to practice communicating during an emergency, particularly local condition reports and relaying any needs of their local community members. As we are getting this group together and gathering data for the best location in town for a GMRS repeater, I'm working on documenting our procedures, best practices, and a more formalized structure for communicating the list of 'qualified operators' to the public so they know who they can go to relay a message or need when there is no phone or internet available. The goal is to then be able to share this structure with other communities that want to implement something similar. I'm sure I'm not creating anything novel here, so I'd love to learn from anyone else that knows of similar efforts and to chat with anyone interested in learning more. I've decided to call this group/framework Community Informal Radio Club for Local Emergencies, Unity and Preparedness, or CIRCLE UP. I'm happy to talk with anyone that has input or questions!
