For those of you who have not heard, the Central Vermont Amateur Radio Club and  The Connecticut Valley FM Association have been conducting an experiment with linking repeaters.  This project has grown very fast in just the last 10 days.  As of right now the following repeaters are linked together:  146.76 Ascutney, 145.47 Lincoln, 146.625 Williamstown, 146.82 Burke (old Cabot), as well as 147.39 Northfield.
For the most part this system is working but still has some bugs to work out.  There are some changes in the audio levels between sites which I am aware of and will be trying to fix over the next couple of weeks.  Another issue is that I put time out timers on the link radios which are far too short for the conversations that most hams have.  This made for a very interesting net on Sunday night.  I will work on extending the time out timers this week.  In the meantime if everyone could just unkey or "roll" the PTT every minute as well as leaving a short gap for others to hop in if needed until I can adjust the time out timers.
Sorry for all of the confusion as I have been running around the state trying to adjust everything this past week. These adjustments haven't been the easiest to do given the weather we have had in the mountains.  A lot of driving and hiking has been done to get to these sites.  I hope these linked repeaters will give the Vermont ham community the boost that it needs.  Please feel free to contact me with any thoughts, good or bad!  I would like to hear everyone's thoughts.
