Dear West River Friends,

Remember when we shared that our refrigerator grant had been denied? Turns out, the grant system was mid–software switch, and an auto-response sent 'NO' (beware of the bots!) before human review.

Just when we thought the refrigerator story had wrapped a $1,493 plot twist landed in our mailbox! We blinked. We laughed. We triple-checked. YES—it’s a very real check! And they were thrilled to grant us the money in seeing our rich community and donation based cafe.

We're extra grateful because that shiny new register you’ve seen at Pizza Night? Let’s just say... we believed in the grant before the grant believed in us. That's what happens when your fridge dreams and a register meltdown happen at the exact same time. (Kids, don’t try this financial advice at home.)

We’re celebrating with you (times two!) again... for every dinner purchased at FAMILY NIGHT (8/12) from 5-7PM, we’re gifting ONE FREE SCOOP of ICE CREAM with sprinkles on top! A sweet thank you for being the kind of community that shows up, holds steady, and laughs with us when the system goes sideways.
