This showing in Windham will also feature a slide show with pictures and information about the five sawmills that once operated in our town. Admission is free; donations accepted. “Bills Lumber,” a 45-minute documentary by film maker Theresa Maggio captures the final days of a family-run sawmill in Wardsboro, VT. The sawmill was built in 1936 by Melbourne Bills; his children and grandchildren operated the mill until it closed in 2023. The film has been shown across Southern Vermont and has been praised for its historical significance, emotional resonance and humor. Fresh popcorn will be available. Film maker Theresa Maggio, and Alan and Everett Bills will join us for Q&A after the movie and slide show.
