Ok typing a super fast mail here . Need to leave ASAP.

If rpi has been decided one person start work on onboard image processing ASAP. This need not necessarily be done on rpi. You can do it on any Linux machine. Raj and someone work on this 

Second person start work on interfacing rpi with apm. Start generating pwm and check in mission planners radio configuration page to see if the roll yaw pitch and throttle changes as you increase the pwm

Third person start working on getting telemetry from apm and sending it via wifi to another comp, phone tablet. 

The first flight with rpi for 20th of next month. Should achieve the following objectives. Capture and store images onboard and do some basic IP in real time. And do wifi telemetry and telecommand( uplink and downlink). Telemety should be standard roll pitch yaw angles and height.
Telecommand will be the operation of a simple buzzer onboard the quad. I should be able to switch and switch off the buzzer from the ground station.

Ground station can be simple text based.

Flight will be simple manual stabilized. Not autonomous.

Plan the electronics placement now itself including wiring. Do not get stuck because what ever you worked on is tom big or too heavy to be flown. This has happened before. Avoid it before hand itself by planning .
