Associate Software Engineer- DB2 Mainframe-50431815 What You'll Do   * This position will be primarily working in Database Administration and data production projects. The nature of work involves basic and advance database administration activities in DB2 relational database on Mainframe platform which included DDL, DML and DCL activities, performance tuning, database backup and restore, database migration, database server patching and testing etc. Major Duties: * Basic understanding of Relational Database Management Systems * Experience monitoring and maintaining production and Devl databases * Experience with 24x7 operational database, DB2 monitoring tools. * Should be proficient in Performance tuning/SQL optimizations on Database server and as well as from the Application server side. * Maintaining the integrity, availability, database backup and recovery of all production/development/test databases, using accepted change management controls * Responding to requests for database or application help from all users * Assisting users with problem solving, training and support on internally or externally maintained databases * Recommending enhancements and new technologies to improve efficiency and quality * Experience in security management, scripts, database performance, configuration management tools * Experience and knowledge in migrating code, database changes, data and menus through the various stages of the development life cycle. What It Takes   * 1-3 years of DB2 DBA experience. * Good understanding of Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) concepts. * Good focus on self- development to keep self updated. * Understand the requirements in detail and analyze and Provide the appropriate solution/design for the given requirement. * Experience using JCLs (Job Control Language), SPUFI (Stored Procedure using File Input), QMF Query Management Facility), File-Aid for DB2, BMC tool. * Hands-on with Quality Center usage for defect tracking. Applies analysis and design skills to develop new applications and support existing applications. Interaction with functional business partners on requirement gathering is required. Responsible for technical support of applications including 24/7 support.
