Im shocked to hear this. How can this tool be promoted/sold for so long and NOTHING stated that the J2534 box is NOT functional? How can this not be posted all over the web? Very curious. Been looking to upgrade a 2016 Maxisys for the last year. TopDon removed from the list until someone can convince me otherwise.
I watched a round table on the mechanic alliance Facebook page last Tuesday. Hakken light is the Topdon trainer and he said the drivers were not ready yet for it to be used as a j2534. You could reach out to him on Facebook and he maybe able to give you a better answer.
Thanks for the info. I think the bigger concern here is why these tools were being sold without the necessary R&D in the first place. And are still currently marketed with this as feature, without disclosure to potential customers? Uh and at the very least, gives little trust for a newer company selling higher priced tooling.
My PC is running windows 11 64bit.
I use this cable regularly for techstream and uninstalled the driver used with techstream and have tried several other drivers with ForScan but still cant get ForScan to work with any of them.
The closest i have gotten to a connection with Forscan is by using the autokent driver that i use with techstream but still it fails to connect entirely as the configuration says:
Interface:
Adapter: MVCI Autokent-X64 - 2.0.1
Min.delay: 21 ms ( Good)
Errors: None
Is not listed as supported by FORScan, but maybe possible to use in J2534 pass thru mode. This is a Toyota Techstream device, The question has been asked on the FORScan Forum with no answers.
Support of J2534 (Pass-Thru) adapters in FORScan v2.2.* - Page 15 - FORScan forum
I suspect it does not due to the lack of responses.
I do not recommend using a partially working adapter with FORScan, and neither does FORScan. The recommended adapters are the OBDLink and VLinker USB models for non-J2534 adapters.

The DA App Hub is a PC based application that is installed to allow you to check for software updates with release information for your DoIP SST Hand Held, DoIP VCI Dongle, DA-Dongle and DA-VINA 2534 products and trial applications if you have a DA-ST512 device.
Please Note : After installation of the DA App Hub you need to connect your DA device to your PC via the USB cable BEFORE you run the DA App Hub for the first time. This is necessary to complete the device driver installation.

The DA D-PDU Device Setup application is required for the DA-DoIP Dongle and the JLR DoIP SST D-PDU Pass-Thru device drivers. This application installs the required PC interface files to allow the support of the ISO D-PDU Pass-Thru standard.
Once you have installed the D-PDU drivers onto your target PC you should connect your DA D-PDU communications device to the vehicle before connecting to the target PC (via the USB cable). If you have done this correctly you will see the STS LED on the device flashing RED & GREEN and the PWR LED will be illuminated RED. When you are in this correct state your device is now ready to be used. This sequence must be followed for each subsequent connection to a vehicle (i.e. connect device to vehicle then connect device to target PC).

Due to an issue with the latest version of SDD you will need to follow a specific process to get SDD to recognise the DA-Dongle/DA-VINA/DA-ST512 for the first time: Power off your laptop/PC. Connect the DA-Dongle / DA-VINA / DA-ST512 to the vehicle and ensure the status LED is flashing alternate red and green. Connect the DA-Dongle/DA-VINA to your laptop/PC with the USB cable. Power up your laptop/PC and run SDD.
The EECM Device Setup application is required for the EECM J2534 Dongle Pass-Thru device drivers. This application installs the required PC interface files to allow the support of the SAE J2534-2 Pass-Thru standard. Allowing the vehicle manufactures diagnostic tool to connect to the EECM vehicle interface.
