Kirsty Morley has just sent this photo in (see files - shell girls)
that was taken in 1917 of a group of female workers from the Vulcan
playing in what I assume was a football tournament to raise money for
an Ambulance. If I remember rightly womens football was a big thing
back then and such a match would have been quite a big event. Have
checked the date and it was a Saturday so I imagine that it may have
featured prominently in the local press, anyone have any idea if we
could find out the girls names!
