Update on repeater and antenna for AA4VU

To all,
I have been working with Barry Templeton to explore the feasibility of installing the AA4VU repeater and antenna on top of Featheringill Hall.
The good news is that we found a place to install the antenna on the lower section of the roof, and a small storage area to put the repeater that will keep the coax run to 50 feet or less. The repeater location will permit the VUARC to access it during business hours if needed.
The bad news is that we cannot install the antenna and coax ourselves. We must pay a contractor to do it. This is a matter of legal liability, as the coax cable has to be connected to the FGH lighting protection system. Barry is getting a quote for the work, which hopefully should be within the VUARC budget.
I’ll update everyone as soon as I have more information.
