Program of Study

 

A large number of educational institutions offer wide variety of Business education programs in field of management sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration and commerce. In this electronic era, the needs and requirements of new and unique courses raise the quantity bar too high. To maintain the quality among numerous business courses Higher education commission revised the status of these programs periodically.
The degree programs of the following disciplines have fallen in the scope of the Council.

  • Business Administration
  • Public Administration
  • Management Sciences
  • Commerce
Additional emerging disciplines and degree programs pertaining to the Business Administration/Public Administration/management sciences shall be added to this list in the future.
it is one of the important aspects for accreditation of degree programs to check the curriculum or syllabi of the educational institute upto the approved standards maintained by Higher Education Commission. Higher Education institutes are notified to implement and follow the guidelines of Business Administration Education from year 2009,recommended by the experts of National Curriculum Revision Committee (NCRC).Guidelines for Business Administration Education

 

  • Course load per semester for undergraduate level: 15-18 credit hours
  • Course load per semester for graduate level: 12-15 credit hours

Guidelines for Business Administration Education
 

Road Map For Business Administration Education
  • BBA – 4 years – 124-136 credit hours
  • BBA (4 years Program) would require 30-36 credit hours for grant of MBA/MS degree
  • Old MBA / M.Com / MPA / ICMA / CA / B.Com (4 year) would require 30-36 credit hours for grant of MS degree
  • Old MBA have to complete 30-36 credit hours before entering into Ph.D. stream
  • The new MBA of 30-36 credit hours would be eligible for admission directly to Ph.D program
  • Two years BA / B.Sc. / B.Com would require to complete 90-96 credit hours for award of MBA degree. This program would be implemented latest by academic year Fall 2008
  • After 16 years of non-business studies, 66-72 credit hours would be required for award of MBA degree
  • For Executive MBA a minimum of 60 credit hours and 02 years duration would be required
  • One year MBA (Executive) will be a PGD certificate

Road Map For Executive MBA
  • The MBA Executive program shall be of 2 years regular study of four semesters and 66-72 credit hours as minimum standard.
    Eligibility: Minimum 14 years education witjh 2nd division plus minimum four years job/work experience at managerial cadre.
    Admission Criteria : Entry Test
  • The one year Business Education program shall be equal to a diploma in Business Administration (Dip B.A)
  • It is recommended that less than one year business education shall be equal to certificate in Business Administration.
