aslam o alikum , i dont think so that there is any need of such things at  that time u mentioned (wo kahtay han na k zaroorat ijad ki maa ha). In over generation as u know everything is globalized so its our nessecity but as 4 as our parents generations is concern i dont think so thay deal with the same situation that we are facing now. Others preception might be different but in my point of view that might be the one reason.

You will find purity and love in your life, particularly the peace which is not common these days as this period of time is really very fast and along with that people of this period are also very short tempered. But the people who are living in this particular period of time (21st century) can't survive if we throw them in old times. But you know necessity is the mother on invention so a man can change himself according to the available facilities. We should thanks to our dear Allah Almighty that HE has given us so many option to enjoy this shorter life
