Given the following conditions, simply identify for each case if it is a downsizing concept or reengineering philosophy and provide BRIEF logic for each case.

Introducing the use of centralized but globally accessible database of customer information so as to reduce delays in customer services

 

ITS RE-ENGINEERING


Reasons:

1- Use of latest information technology

2- Recompiling of available resources in a more beneficial way

3- Collection of various sorts of data in one place and saving the time

4 - saving of cost

5- Better performance

Job enlargement and increased motivation towards decision-making

ITS DOWNSIZING


Reasons:

1- Employee will perform additional works

2- New employees will not be hired

3- Existing workforce will be reduced

4- Remaining employees will perform in a better way to avoid their own job termination

5 - Working environment will be better and smooth
