We skated the pond at around 1030, at that point there had been some snow squalls, but the wind was actively clearing the snow as it fell, so there was a camouflage pattern. Ice quality was a very nice pebbled Black Ice, ice thickness was generally 2 3/4, but there were some thinner spots, nothing below 2 1/4 besides for the open area at the north end where the stream comes in . The lake level had risen slightly, but it was easy to get on at the boat ramp, however, some of the other Shore lines had being eroded by rainfall and made larger by the water level of the pond going up. None of this presents a problem to skaters, except for just being aware not to go right next to shore on some areas of the lake.
We also took a look at Martin's pond(peacham vt) did not have time to skate but checked out the ice thickness, there was a bigger moat around martins pond But I was able to step over it without too much trouble, the ice thickness was more like 2 inches on Martin's in the ice surface was even smooth smoother than on Keiser. There was less snow on Martin's At that time.
We have continued to have some small snow squalls since we got off the ice, I don't think we are predicted to get so much snow that people can't skate. There is supposed to be moderate wind today and tonight, which may clear the flurries.
