Just received this report from a friend. Small but beautiful.
<< Just had a grand time on the ice this AM. I'd give the ice 7.5 or 8.
There are no open cracks or shell ice but some minor ripples and some
scabbed frozen snow. The few cracks were all closed or filled and
frozen. A little snow but not the type that creates drag on the skates.
We did 3 laps staying within 80 feet of shore out of caution. White ice
around the edges seemed secure . The middle was all glassy black ice 2
to 5" that we avoided. >>
