Green River Reservior

Checked out GRR this afternoon and was surprised to find some pretty nice ice. I stayed to 

the South end of the reservoir but guessing there is more skating to be had. The black ice was a pretty consistent 2" +/- .25" everywhere i checked. There was a visible open section stretching approximately East-West from the West corner of the big island. Other than that, found one spot kept open by either a juvenile loon or cormorant. I reached out to a loon biologist. Waiting to hear back on ID and next steps. Great skating, but it was snowing lightly as I was there and the forecast looks like more snow tomorrow.
