In case any others had hopes that the lake would survive, no more trail maintenance, snowstorm, rainstorm, and 2 days of fishing tournaments, like I had hopes it might. Just so you know, it did not, the trail is total trash, and I don't really think it would recover before the end of skating season, unless we had some sort of major rain and major refreeze. But I guess nothing is impossible.
