Learning to skate

Since I got my fill of skating today , I am willing to head to the sea Caves also called “Arther Park” , tomorrow morning and give sone tips to those who want to feel more confident on their blades. Someone said they “ want to learn to glide like Diana” I will show you what I do, and explain how it works. Then, your part is to spend a lot of time on blades to master it. At 68 years old, I am still working on my technique. It does not happen over night. But I can get you started in the right direction.

How about not going to Leddy , and meet me at the Ice Caves, Arther Park at 9:30am.

Park your car over at the Burlington HS, cross North Ave, and walk down the trail to the end. It will take you down to the ice.

Hi Diana,  I will miss this chance again but thank you for your kindness.  My skates are in a store sharpening now and I have ice dance test today till after lunch.….. I will practice at the Sea cave (maybe) tomorrow by myself first. 

Your YouTube video for sharpening blades really detail and step by step,  helped me understanding very much. Thank you very much.

Deep appreciation to Diana Hanks for leading a beginner's course on Nordic skating for 7 or 8 people this morning at Arthur Park in Burlington. I continue to be her worse student, but I will keep plugging along.   She got a lot of her students moving on the ice pretty fast, impressive to see as they started whizzing by (me).  

Ice was fine, rough around edges, bumpy everywhere else, but okay for learning and a number of local folks were out managing with hockey or figure blades.  

Wind was fierce, though, hope that dies down as I hope to try again out there tomorrow morning, around 10:30 am.
