The Lake Placid Oval Advisory Committee (LPOAC) aims to build a supportive relationship based on mutual respect, trust, and transparency between the Olympic Regional Development Authority’s Olympic Center Management (OCM) and the speed skating users of the James C Sheffield Speed Skating Oval (Oval). To this end, the LPOAC seeks to provide constructive input to the OCM to promote recreational and competitive speed skating, both inline and on ice, and to receive from the OCM transparent information on the Oval operating schedule and plans for development.
The LPOAC will collect and consolidate input from its committee members to promote and facilitate recreational, competitive, and Nordic speed skating for the broader community. It will also help facilitate training camps and regional, national, and international racing at the Oval. The LPOAC will act as a conduit for information from the OCM to be transmitted to committee members and their communities, primarily via email and social media.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Dave Phillips and Christie Sausa,
Co-Chairs
Lake Placid Oval Advisory Committee
