We skated from the fisherman's access north of Ayers cliff. The starting point on the track. In general, really nice orange peel for most of the way to North Hadley with some rough sections, which could mostly be skated but a couple areas which we double pulled over. Very high-quality orange peel on the south end and also some nice quality lake wide on the north end by North Hatley. We had a proper European style skating experience with a stop at a lovely café for pastries and coffee in the town of North Hatley. There were some melted out shore lines and we needed to find a couple pieces of driftwood to get on the ice, but that would probably be better tomorrow morning. The lake is a little over 9 miles long and we probably skated about 20 although I only took a track from our put in to the north end of the lake. We then skated back and skated around the south end for a bit on the good Ice. All in all a lovely experience up in Quebec.
No major hazards besides for the previously mentioned shorelines and a few pressure ridges, which were easy to cross, the ice was all sturdy and thick again at least 10 inches on the cracks that we could see. In general, we skated on resurfaced black ice.
