Skated from the Waterbury Center state park, where there is 1" of grey ice on top of 4.5" of black ice, for a whopping 5.5" total. Orange peel with a dusting of snow that changed from an even coat to blown drifts the further west. Once in the center of the reservoir, there are younger slabs at 3" thickness with .5" grey ice on top, orange peel, but clear of snow and very nice skating.
We wanted to skate the north-south leg up Little River, but the surface had old drifts of snow that had re-frozen and the skating wasn't as nice as the larger open areas near the dam.
