
Some of you/us are huge Willoughby Lake fans. This afternoon the south, north, and boat launch possibilities are risky (1- to 1-1/2 inches) and frosted with an inch of snow. Like here in the photo, the 30- to 50-foot strip along the shore is supportable but not skateable. 97% of the lake is open water with wave action. These ice fishermen and I tested and retreated where the frozen/broken ice meets the newly formed ice. Not recommended in my opinion for now. At all.
This 300-foot deep lake needs deep cold nights with not a breath of wind. When it’s smooth and safe, it may forever be a treasured memory.
