Friends,

I spend way too much time looking at ice on social media!

Today, I found this though…https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1C4hWs13aj/

Per Gary Lefebre, this was taken today before noon and says "looks like snow blew off the main lake" On his facebook post, there is also a drone video to check out.

This is by no means an endorsement of this ice but rather some information that might be good combined with other vistas and reports. What are others seeing?'

Cheers,

Kitty

I was just coming here to post an image from social media of the Charlotte area taken yesterday a day after the most recent snow.  searching for it again, will send if I can find.

Can anyone go scout this area?

Image showed a snowdrifted area with lots of possible maze-like lanes to be skated around the drifts.  Not sure the size or how far out one would have to walk to access it.  Perhaps a recent satellite image would clarify.

As Kitty notes, this is not an endorsement.  Also, be especially careful of south winds that could break plates free on that area.

Happy skating (there is more to come!)
Jo
