Town Farm Bay - Charlotte Report

The bay was pleasant skating not too bumpy launching from Thompsons Point. The attempt to get across to the NY side was thwarted as the ice went from bad to worse. When we debated whether to take the skates off and walk we headed back to skate in the bay instead. The black ice sections that are visible in the satellite photo are only slightly smoother than the grey ice surrounding it. There were some wet cracks developing as the day warmed up. A difficult to cross ridge closed off Kingsland Bay to us though we didn't give it maximum effort.
