Scouting report: Berlin Pond and Wrightsville Reservoir unsuitable

I checked out the south end of Wrightsville Reservoir and found it covered with snow; I didn’t approach close enough to the ice to see how thick either the snow or the ice was, but it looked unappealing from up on top of the dam.

I circumdrove Berlin Pond and found nothing but thin ice and open water, wherever I looked or got out and ventured to the edge of the water.
