Am on Morey now.Have skated from boat launch North along shore to Lanakila So far solid white ice,varing texture and some small bumps.No shell or sandwich  where I have been.this surface will soften fast when it warms.

Had great skate this morning,good ice,eagles,dead deer, interesting drain holes,7 like-minded companions, several groups of fishing folks., pretty sunrise,who could ask for more.

What a great surprise after sinking in boot deep on my Mascoma scout yesterday. Myself and my friend Courtney lingered until about 330 when the ice finally became snow covered, logging 51 miles, which is a challenge on a lake that size but the ice was pretty good in general and it is March 25th, so why not. I was able to get pretty close to a massive Eagle feeding on a deer carcass but too slow to get a good picture. Let's keep this season going.

To complement Sarah's report... photo &  Orange peel to rough peel to lightly crispy snow covered peel, all skateable. Foot & ATV traffic greatly diminished by warm temps/sun.  No sandwich layer, thick ice everywhere but inlets/outlets, skimmed ice drain holes, and some shorelines.  Easy access at boat launch.
