The ice Trail survived the fishing derby weekend pretty well, in my opinion,. By the beach, and by the boat launch, are some bumps, poles were helpful navigating through those areas. The west side is not in as great a shape as the east side, longer stretches of smoothish ice on the east side. Old cracks have healed and smoothened somewhat, stay vigilant for new cracks that are much harder to see. No wind to speak of today a pleasant time on the lake. Benches by Beach are gone but the gate is still open for parking. Several small groups of people enjoyed the ice this morning while I was there, only one other person on Nordic skates,. If you are looking for perfectly smooth ice this is not it, but it's still way better than the couch. You can see from the boat launch North an effort was made by vehicle traffic to form their own road off the ice Trail, thank you for that guys.
