It's possible that, not unlike other far-flung destinations, some or all cell/phone providers may not have service in that area and plan accordingly.

Cheers,
Jo

Planing a skating party on Lake Willoughby tomorrow. Leave Montpelier 9 or 9:30 arrive Willoughby by 10:30 or 11. With 10 moh winds out of the south it might be nice to set a car at the north end and start from.the Beach at the south. Sounds like ba
Lack ice conditions are spectacular. I've yet to skate there.

Thanks, Phyl! I didn't know any of these webcams existed.

It occurs to me that this might be a good time to share URLs for any webcams people know about so here is my contribution:

North Hero - https://heroswelcome.com/webcam/

Champlain Marina (Mallets Bay) - https://heroswelcome.com/webcam/

If anyone is aware of any others, let's add them to the list.

Checked out Lake will be today from the north end. We drove down to the fishing access much ice ing with open water and about 20 fisherman. Hanging out About 100 feet from the open water.

We put in from the north shore, where there was also some open water straight out from the parking lot, but there is easy put in spots to the left. We talked with a guy who had been fishing there for the last 64 years he said, and he noted the open water on the left and said it was safe to the on the right side as you look down the lake or the west side. We skated the middle and the right side For almost two miles.
There is a mix of black ice and orange, peel with snow covering small areas and checking. The depth of the cracks was 3 to 5 inches. Lots of fun!
In one picture, you can see the depth of the crack and right  down to the bottom of the lake
