To all Nordic Skaters,
and all others on these wonderful forums,
I'm very happy that tonight we are all on land and healthy.
It's very interesting to do a post-crisis critique.
I notice that many of us skaters seem to be pretty cavalier about today's events.
Maybe I'm wrong, but didn't 5 friends just get rescued?
How lucky are they?
Did they all have dry suits? Could they have swum to shore or to another safer piece of ice?
Today was really close to our biggest fear.
Can you imagine the news headlines?
If not for cell phones, lots of volunteers, fire depts and rescue squads, etc, then I'm pretty sure they would be dead, right?
You know, like a total and complete bummer for how many families, friends and acquaintances??
Am I missing something here?
Respectfully,
Tom d.
