Waterbury Reservoir has consistent 4-5" of pebbly grey ice, slightly more textured than the orange peel surface most have been reporting at other locales, but virtually snowless and without pressure ridges or cracks and only a tiny bit of shell ice. I highly recommend it.


It is worth a return visit so I'll be there again tomorrow morning, probably around 9:00 or 9:30.

Smooth enough to go at speed! Our small group started out around 2pm and skated 13.5 miles. Came home with a couple of brown trout from some friendly fishermen!
