As reported before, there is great Skating if you're willing to make the trek out from star farm Beach to a section of Ice that is visible in the satellite. So far I have skated up to Colchester point and got a bunch of miles already a little bit south of Starr Farm as well. Some route, finding in the beginning, but then easy open stretches of beautiful, black ice, most of it has some texture either a little crystal pattern or some frozen bumps but really nice Skating overall, snow drifts, some of which are slushed out some of which are but can generally skated around. As visible in the satellite, there is large open water on the lake. The lake never fully closed maybe for a couple hours, but there have been open wind leads crossing the lake continuously for a week or more, what this means is that big section of ice the middle can be blown around from Shore to Shore. The leads that are visible in the satellite are bigger and extended further south today, so pay attention to wind direction when you are out here. The good news is that there's great Skating,. these huge areas of open water going across the lake are Also good news even if this Ice that I am Skating getssnowed on. There's a chance of some very cool Skating tracks to freeze up in the middle of the lake in the future. Conditions also look good tomorrow for potential snow on Friday.
