Miller Pond update (Strafford, Vt)

Miller Pond is still in very good shape, though it now has about half an inch of powdery, faceted snow on the surface, glittery and fluffy.

I skated pretty much the whole thing earlier today, as you can see from the attached track, and didn’t find anything but solid, consistent, good ice. There are some obvious thin patches around the edges, easily avoided.

Ran into Sarah MacDonald who was out enjoying the sun as well. Found the remnants of a deer carcass, not much more than skeleton at this point.
