Wrightsville Reservoir

Just back from a beautiful skate on Wrightsville Reservoir just north of Montpelier. We measured over 5” of ice. Open water further up towards the beach but plenty of 8 or 9 ice. A little bit of dust on the surface but plenty smooth. There is a pressure ridge to watch out for but you can cross it close to shore in the right side. Park just past the dam where there is a small pull off. Getting onto the ice requires a little dexterity. We did it without a board but that would have made it easier. If you are close by I’d say get out there quick before the snow flies!
