Broad Lake safety update 22 Lake Champlain

That far I have skated from Charlottetown Beach to the four brothers to Schuler Island, I am skating Ice along Shore north of Schuler Island right now. With the increasing southern wind, I noticed some small cracks starting to form in the ice pack on the lake so I headed towards Shore that small crack, I first saw has now widen into about 50 feet wide as most of the northern part of the lake is drifting north, this is north of Schuler Island. Because of this everything south of there on the Broad Lake besides perhaps Ice that may be held in by the four Brothers is also at risk of moving north. I would consider the broad Lake to be very unsafe at this point. The good news is that the wind is supposed to shift at some point and likely this huge plate of ice will set back in place and freeze tight tonight.
