Monty Bay

Old news, smooth ice.  Put on late for a short but delightful skate on Monty Bay this afternoon.  Almost gave up after seeing open water south of Isle La Motte (see graphics below).  Glad I trundled up to MB marina / Happy Pike restaurant.  Only covered about 7 miles, but great skate (especially after stumbling across Dan, Sadie, Tom, and Amy).  Have read about many acres of ice around Isle La Motte, but I only sampled a few along the NY shore.
