The Passing Of Catherine Hughes

I was shocked to find this news story today. Apparently, one of our fellow Nordic skaters, Catherine Hughes passed this weekend. Here’s the news story.  It doesn’t seem long ago we saw her out on the ice.

Thanks Diana, I am saddened to learn this. Catherine was a kind, good and unique person. I always enjoyed seeing her…Wherever and whenever the occasion…Rest in Peace Catherine.

Yes, What a shock!

I saw Catherine about a month ago. She was very thin and suffering from what she thought was long Covid. 

She came to my house to say goodbye because I was about to move away from Burlington, but she said she was looking forward to skating with me at the Intervale since I would be within walking distance. 

Makes me remember how fragile life is and how we should appreciate each other while we are alive.
