What a blast it was seeing so many of you (40-50 skaters!) out at Citizen Cider last night!

It was wonderful to connect with new and familiar faces, share stories and resources, and talk about building our amazing skating community. It was also fun to see everyone out of their gear!

Check out the Sk802 website, which we debuted at the gathering- major kudos to Chi for building the site! We encourage you to let us know what future gatherings you'd be interested in as well as what you'd like to see in a skating club so keep us posted.

A big shout out to those of you who traveled long distances to join us- Dr. Jo and Chip from the CT River Valley; Dan, Elizabeth, Tom and crew from the Adks; Cathy and George from Lake George; Tiffany and Kate from Montpelier. 

Here's to a wonderful skating season and to seeing you all out on the ice soon!

Sorry to have missed the event last night. I checked out the new Sk802 website and was flattered to see my East Street Weather blog included in you list of weather resources. 

Though I’m primarily a skier (both nordic and alpine) I got bitten pretty hard by the nordic skating bug last season after skating some glorious ice at sunset off our camp on North Hero last February. I hope to get out more this season and meet some of you!

I was sorry to have missed this event, but knew the timing was way too tight to even attempt making it. I was at a ski instructor training at Sugarbush all day and finally made it home at six pm, exhausted! I also missed some of the nicest ice to skate on. One day of black ice, before the snow.
