Candled ice will be coming eventually with warmer (higher) sun & temps, as he notes.
One key thing to know is that if you go through candled ice, it may be extremely difficult to get back onto the ice because the force of pushing on it while trying to self-rescue may cause it to continue to break in front of you. Throw rope rescues may also
be impacted, I would think.
