Burlington from Leddy beach

A pair of us went in search of ice off Leddy beach late morning today. There are lanes of thick black ice to be had in between the zig zags of low snow drift. It's like skating through a maze. There are some larger patches in there too. Stayed inside the bay. By noon the ice was singing loudly and making startling cracking sounds but the ice looks consistently thick.
