Lake Morey 1/6

The Lake Morey skating trail is open. I went over there late afternoon yesterday (Tuesday 1/6) and it was fun to see so many people out enjoying the ice. There were all ages, all types of skates, and everyone had a smile on their face. 

The surface was nothing to write home about, in my opinion. There were some smooth areas and also a lot of bumpy areas. I hadn't skated Morey in earnest since before the resurfacing, and it seems like it resurfaced unevenly. I think in general the east side is smoother than the west. 

So my takeaway is: Don't expect perfect ice, but it's really nice to be out there with everyone enjoying it :)
