Oakledge, waterfront and Leddy

Hi All,

I just got back from a recon/small skate at Oakledge. A few things to report: there is skatable ice about 1/4 miles out from Oakledge, it is thick and strong, but not particularly smooth. I was able to pick my way though various rubble bands to do 1-2 miles in Burlington Bay. Sadly, I was not able to make it to the waterfront, Juniper Island or other points of interest. This was my first time skating the broad lake outside of the breakwater, so that was cool, but definitely not a must-do skate.

I then went to the waterfront and Leddy Park in search of any other new ice. There is an area south of rock point that looks interesting, but Leddy Park is still steaming, open water
