IMPORTANT UPDATE re Parking at Little Lake Sunapee

Thanks for sharing this, Mark.  Harsh.  I wonder why?  It's one thing to enforce single-side parking on that road, but none at all?  Wow.  For those in the area, are there alternatives within reasonable distance? 

There's a small parking area at the boat launch off Little Lake Sunapee Road at the complete opposite end from Bucklin Beach/Old Dump Road.  It's possible they may shut that down, tho, if it's a Fish & Wildlife access, I can't tell from the map.  Some on this list will remember we were warned a few weeks ago by a Ranger at Keiser Pond in Danville, VT, that F&W parking areas are reserved for fishing permit holders (didn't say if they had to be fishing).  Don't know if that's true for NH.

New London, NH, site of Little Lake Sunapee and other beloved skating venues, has some unfortunate history regarding skaters.  Without hearing a good rationale this seems puzzling and excessive.

FYI,

According to a report by a wing sailor today NL police plan to start ticketing cars parked on the Old Dump Rd by Bucklin Beach.

NL residents may want to call the police and ask where we can legally park to access the lake.

We meet today at 1:30pm for a repeat of yesterday's tour. We'll go around the lake together once, and then you're on your own! Yesterday the last skaters didn't get off the ice until 5pm. See you this afternoon.
